Self Sacrifice

March 22, 2010

It’s really been so hard these past 3 months. This tedious work has taken its toll against me and the only thing that’s keeping me going is that promise I made a few years back. Someone once told me that my life needed to be fixed. Back then I was so sure that my life didn’t need fixing and everything was okay. But it turned out differently.

Life of a L’Cie

March 15, 2010

ffxiii04[1]I have Orpen to thank for this. He was kind enough to invite me over at his place so we could play Final Fantasy 13 together. He let me have at it for 7-8 hours!

Yeah, my PS3 is still not repaired. It looks like its gonna be a lab rat a little bit longer there. I’m even beginning to wonder if I could still get it repaired. My other hope is Sony Philippines. If the claim that they’re launching the PS3 on March 26 for the local market then they must be able to accept repairs for it. I will probably pay for the repairs but it doesn’t matter to me at all. I just want my PS3 back for sentimental reasons. The other problem is, I can’t afford to buy a new slim right now as there are more important financial responsibilities I need to take care of.

Sigh. Can’t wait ‘til next week. Wanna play it so badly. On another sidenote, I might pick up the PC version of Left for Dead 2. I found out recently that it greatly dispersed the pent up stress in my mind. And yes, I’m getting the original one so I can go online and play with other people. Or I might get Bioshock 2 instead I suppose. Oh well, lets see.

It’s a Monday alright…

March 8, 2010

Ugh. Talk about bad Mondays. My boss didn’t really feel well today but he still did a lot of work.

He’s pushing himself so much. I know we have a deadline on the 22nd of March to complete stuff but he shouldn’t push himself like that.

Starting next week he’s probably going to be gone and I need to do all the checklists and other work. He needs to go to Thailand for some business meeting and he’ll be there for at least a week. By then, I should have everything laid out and planned. I just pray to God that nothing screws up. To hell with Murphy’s law!

Why is a Raven like a writing desk?

March 7, 2010

I’ve heard that question some 21 years ago and only recently found the answer to it. Yes, I’ve seen the new Alice in Wonderland in 3D lately. All I can say is that it was really well done and it was something that did wake me up to the realities of life. Sigh… I need to get back to some of my Anime.

It’s bee a swell weekend though. I got to play a PS3 again thanks to Robert who lent me his Ps3 for the 2nd week now. Currently playing Darksiders and I’ll be done probably by next week when I return it to him. Sigh… I wonder if Myio (my phat PS3) will ever get repaired?

Hearts and New Year

February 14, 2010

I’ve always liked Tigers even though they aren’t exactly my “animal”. I’m actually a Ram. There’s just something about Tigers that make them so mysterious and majestic.

Back when the “Habitat” shirts were still around (that was like 2000 – 2004). I used to have 4 different Tiger shirts. They’re all gone now and I’ve regret not having taken care of them.

This is one of those rare years when Chinese New Year coincides with valentines day. I was in the mall earlier and everyone was in Red. I was in Red too but it wasn’t because I had a Valentine, and not because it was the Chinese New Year. I just liked the color Red. Lol.

Dragons of Summer Flame

February 7, 2010

It’s been a while since I’ve read a really good book. Last week, I found myself browsing thru the shelves of PowerBooks. I was looking for volumes 4 and 5 of Megatokyo but they didn’t have it. I went ahead and made a special order for them but it will take 2-3 weeks for it to get here.

Anyway, to keep me pre-occupied, I decided to get a book. Preferably a novel. Then I stumbled upon the Fantasy section. I saw a lot of Dragon Lance books and it gave me fond memories of the last Dragon Lance book I read, which was the Gates of Thorbardin. I noticed a series of “Dragons” books and they seemed interesting. Being an avid player of Dungeons and Dragons during my college days, it made me felt nostalgic, so I went ahead and got this book to start with. When I’m finished with it this week, I might probably get the others in this series.

Routine B33R!

February 2, 2010

image 8:43 AM. I did not get enough sleep. Going to bed early was a good idea but I found myself waking up every… 2 hours I suppose. It must be the new pillow. Work has started and I’ve got a lot on my plate. Something like 17 tasks today, 3 of which are deadlines.

9:21 AM. I somewhat feel refreshed after going thru my AO files. I dunno but it feels like something good is going to happen today. Got the directory site designs from Marc and they seem to be really polished and nice. I just hope the last minute changes I gave to him will work out before Jan has a peek at it later. I really do hope we finally launch those sites today. Finally, my hard work is paying off.

10:59 AM. Doing CSS stuff one the directory sites. Almost there! Just need to get Marc up to speed in using CSS properly. Div layers ugh.

1:20 PM. Looks like I’m gonna be having lunch real late today. Gone thru a ton of AO files with the boss and planned how we could better organize our work. An hour and a half left for the Directory Site deadline. *dies*

1:52 PM. Just had lunch. Now on to the nitty gritty stuff. Calling Marc right now to deal with the Directory site deadline. Crunch time.

8:56 PM. Ugh. Had a busy streak from 2 PM until 7 PM. In the end we didn’t get the Directory Sites up due to some problems in the design. But a more pressing issue was going on. Even if we did have the Directory Site coded and ready, the server was doing “hiccups”. For some reason the Apache server was quitting on us and rejecting passwords, settings and even the command lines! We sorta gave up and just messaged our server admin guy, Jason, over at Australia.  Just had dinner and I’m having a San Mig Light, thanks to my boss. For the record, I don’t really drink beer but this comes with the job. It would be rude to tell my boss that I don’t want it so as not to offend him, one bottle of San Mig Light is enough. Now, I’m off to enjoy this beer and then do a few organizing with my work files. Tomorrow is going to be hell day, I can see it now. Oyasumi.
